Tesla Cybertruck: Specs, Range, Towing & Is It Worth It? (2026)
The Cybertruck is the most divisive vehicle Tesla makes β a stainless-steel wedge that's either the future or an acquired taste, depending on who you ask. Underneath the looks, though, it's a seriously capable electric truck. Here are the numbers that matter and an honest take on whether it's worth it.
Trims & price
- Long Range / Dual Motor AWD β from about $69,990, roughly 325β335 miles of range. The value entry into the lineup.
- All-Wheel Drive β about $79,990, ~325 miles, more power and equipment.
- Cyberbeast β about $114,990, ~320 miles, the tri-motor flagship: roughly 845 hp and a 0β60 in about 2.6 seconds, which is supercar territory for a pickup.
Range
Cybertrucks are rated in the ~320β335 mile range depending on trim and wheels β strong for a big, heavy, aerodynamically challenged truck. Like any pickup (gas or electric), real-world range drops when you tow or haul, so plan road trips with that in mind; the in-car trip planner adjusts for it.
Towing & payload β it's a real truck
This is where the Cybertruck earns its keep. It's rated to tow up to 11,000 pounds and carry a payload of around 2,500 pounds, with a roughly 6-foot bed that locks under a powered tonneau cover. It also has clever touches like onboard power outlets (110V and 240V) that can run tools or even back up a house. Towing heavy will cut range significantly β expect well under half the rated figure with a big trailer β so it's best for shorter hauls or trips planned around Superchargers.
Is the Cybertruck worth it?
It depends on what you want from it. The Cybertruck is genuinely capable, quick, and cheap to fuel and maintain compared with a gas truck β but it's expensive up front, the least efficient Tesla, and pricier to insure. Against a comparable loaded gas pickup, its running-cost savings are real but take time to overcome the sticker and depreciation. If you want a distinctive, capable EV truck and you'll use the capability, it makes sense; if you just want the cheapest path into a Tesla, a Model 3 or Model Y is the smarter buy.
