Tesla's European Sales More Than Double as the Comeback Gathers Steam
New registrations across Europe surged over 100% year-over-year in June — the fourth straight month of growth — with the Model Y once again the continent's best-selling electric car.
Tesla's momentum in Europe is no longer a one-month blip — it's a trend. New vehicle registrations across the continent more than doubled in June 2026, climbing over 100% versus the same month a year earlier to roughly 28,610 units, with about 21,767 of those in the European Union. It marked the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year growth for the automaker in the region.
The Model Y leads from the front
Behind the surge is a familiar name: the Model Y. The refreshed SUV remained the best-selling electric vehicle in Europe by sales, with the Model 3 holding on to second place among EVs. Strong demand for the updated Model Y lineup is exactly what analysts had pointed to as the engine of Tesla's recovery, and the June numbers back that up.
Wall Street is taking notice
The sales data is feeding into a more optimistic outlook for the quarter. Goldman Sachs lifted its second-quarter 2026 delivery estimate for Tesla to about 420,000 vehicles, up from a prior 405,000 and ahead of the broader consensus near 400,000. That would build on Q1 2026 deliveries of 358,023 units — themselves up about 6% from a year earlier — and point to a strengthening trajectory through the year.
Why it matters for buyers
A healthier, growing Tesla is good news well beyond the stock ticker. Rising volumes support the things owners actually care about: continued investment in the Supercharger network, faster over-the-air software improvements, and a strong used-car market that helps Teslas hold their value. Momentum like this tends to reinforce itself.
