Cybertruck Windshield Protection Plan Monthly Cost Drops From $35 to $25
Tesla will apply the lower rate to the first payment on or after October 1, 2026.
Tesla is reducing the monthly price of its Cybertruck Windshield Protection Plan from $35 to $25, cutting the annual cost from $420 to $300 for subscribers.
What Happened
Tesla has notified Cybertruck owners that the monthly subscription will drop from $35 to $25. The new rate applies to the first payment on or after October 1, 2026. All other plan benefits remain unchanged: unlimited repairs for chips and minor cracks on the front windshield, one full replacement every 12 months at no additional charge, and a $100 deductible for further replacements in the same year. Service uses Tesla glass with camera calibration, which is significant because Autopilot and Full Self-Driving systems rely on those lenses behind the windshield.
Why It Matters
The Cybertruck's large, complex windshield has been more expensive to replace than glass on other Tesla vehicles, which is why the pickup launched at a higher subscription price point. The $10 monthly reduction brings the annual cost down by roughly 29 percent. The timing coincides with approximately one year of claims data since the plan was extended to the Cybertruck. There is no long-term contract required, and coverage applies only to front glass, excluding collision, vandalism, or weather damage. For comparison, Model 3 and Model Y subscribers pay $16 a month for similar windshield coverage, and those rates remain unchanged.
The Bottom Line
Tesla has not publicly explained the price adjustment. Owners who want to bundle windshield protection with wheel-and-tire coverage can purchase both as separate monthly subscriptions through the Tesla app. The lower Cybertruck rate takes effect October 1.
